Books, Music, Art & Such

To have the freedom to go to a library is a wonderful thing. Growing up, along with music, it was my next best escape. I tell you the library was wonderful. Whether it was the school library or the town’s library, or the one in the next state over, the library offered a type of sanctuary.

Book reports. I’d actually forgotten how much I’d loved them.  To a certain degree anyway.  Have to love the research in order to throw myself completely into it. So spoiled. But passionate. And not everything is worth your passion.

When the thrill of music and it’s speedway spoke, along with sales and client services development….what great callings to lean into, because they were all similar in patterns.  And they all had/have one thing in common.  Me.

I continuously look to improve my product. (Whatever the product is that I back.)

I look for the best population (s) to serve.  (Whomever when the dynamic is right.)

I want to push beyond my limits but never at the cost of the client(s) that I serve.

Where am I going with all this? THAT is a fantastic question because I’m also curious and excited to see!

A gentleman whom I’ve come to admire,  gave me the most honest and perfect answer for many matters recently:

“I dunno.”  I love straight, simplistic,  honesty.

But I do know, that music, art, color, fabric, more art, creating with these mediums and others, are mandatory.

Like big Fashizille mandatory.

Like I can’t breathe anymore without, mandatory.

So literally asking God,  “Shall I pinch myself to make sure?” Sometimes we can’t receive a gift as gracefully as we think! Sometimes God resurrects the dead to allow you to see something you hadn’t seen before.   Do you believe that? I do. It’s actually a bit frightening.

If you’ve given Fear more than a proper place at the head of your dining table, you know the meal’s not going to be any good. Fear doesn’t deserve a place of honor. It’s destructive on not just any level, but all.  Healthy concerns are challenges to be solved in the most peaceful ways as much as possible.    And levity really helps.  It truly does.  And for those who think otherwise, that’s ok too!

We’re still a very privileged country.  Why make it your mission to think less? Why not make it your mission or an integral part of your mission to behave like you have a choice in your actions and recognize how powerful they are, instead of believing they are insignificant? I understand. I did. And that’s fake news. No, we shouldn’t think more highly of ourselves than we ought to.  But if there was ever a time to put up or shut up…

So be cautious, not full of care.  Not all the time. You’ll blow a gasket.  I’ve heard enough about finding happiness and I’ve equally heard enough about not seeking it all! You go ahead and be unhappy and somber and preach a gospel of peace while negative emotions steer your ship.  We’re preaching – all of us – on a regular daily basis.  And  mostly…it’s not our words that speak necessarily with the most conviction.

Create something if you haven’t in a while that somebody or some bodies can take joy in.  You know how, you just have to remember. And then you have to practice. And practice more. And ask how that is supposed to work itself into a realistic opportunity to be a blessing to someone else. From there, vines start to swing and you get to see life with an innocence you haven’t seen in awhile.
